Many owners of the various X10 phones from Sony Ericsson has been looking forward to update their phones in September, but the update has now been postponed to late October. Owners of the HTC Desire are happy about the last update to the Android 2.2, but it seems that Sony Ericsson people have to make do with the outdated Android 1.6 a while longer.
According to a post on Sony Ericsson’s official blog, it takes longer to get to grips with the new software than they had expected. Thus comes the Android 2.1 for X10, X10 and X10 Mini Mini Pro update not until late October, when the update will start being sent out to phones.
The updates will include the following:
Xperia X10:
HD video recording
Android 2.1
New backup and restore app
5 home screens of apps, widgets, shortcuts and folders
Social phonebook that automatically sync with Facebook, and shows when people are online
Xperia X10 and X10 mini mini pro:
Improved Bluetooth so you can send and receive images, contacts and other
New backup and restore app
Automatic syncing of contact pictures between Facebook and your phone book
Improved handling of images, sounds, text and numbers in your messages
Android 2.1
