Three Upcoming Android phones from HTC Leaked

Thu, Jan 20, 2011

Pocketnow recently published the three seen above. The images, which allegedly shows us the next three Android -powered phones from HTC , do not give us that much information. The phone on the far left looks to be a sequel to the HTC Smart. In the middle of the picture we see a phone that looks to be a sequel to the HTC Wildfire. Far right, it looks as if we are dealing with a sequel to the HTC Desire. In other words, there’s a chance that the phone on the far right comes with a 3.7″ (3.8″ or 4″ is also possible) screen. In such a case is likely that the phone in the middle has a 3.2-inch or perhaps slightly larger display. And the one on the left probably 2.8″. Interestingly, all the phones seem to come with a video chat camera. These phones would then be HTC’s first Android phones with dual cameras.

CyberLink brings auto-stereoscopic 3D on the PC

Sat, Jan 15, 2011

At CES CyberLink presented plans for an autostereoscopic PowerDVD – enabling 3D Blu-ray playback for desktop and notebook PCs without neither active or passive glasses. Among the solutions that can deal with the new PowerDVD version is 3DeeFlector including Spatial View, the display 215FS01 from CPT and the 3d-rig from SeeFront.

Although details are scarce, a previous statement is that “The Notebook 3DeeFlector offers manufacturers a cost-effective and easy way to expand their products to view autostereoscopic 3D,” according to Ihor Petelycky, Spatial View.

“We are seeing an increasing need for vivid 3D playback without disturbing eyeglasses,” said Christoph M. Gross, founder and CEO of SeeFront. “By working with CyberLink we can combine true 3D effects with freedom of movement in all directions to create the ultimate 3D impression.”

In the case of the solution from Chunghwa Picture Tubes (CPT), it is a 21.5-inch-wide LCD ( CLAA215FS01 ) with a native resolution of 1,920 x 1,080 pixels, a contrast ratio of 1,000:1 and 72-percent color saturation and a LVDS interface ( Barrier 3D). Currently it is unclear whether the display is to use solutions from Spatial View or SeeFront.

CyberLink has so far been silent about when the new version of PowerDVD will come on the market. The software is very likely to be bundled with the solutions from Spatial View, SeeFront and CPT.
